Contract Manager Job Description for DPS Food and Nutrition Services
Summary of Position:
Monitors and participates in the preparation and service of school meals for students and adults.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and participates in the preparation, cooking and service of food for students and adults.
- Ensures that meals served conform to planned menus, or that emergency substitutions comply with meal pattern requirements.
- Supervises the Food Service staff by preparing work schedules, assigning and directing work, training, enforcing work production standards, evaluating work performance, and recommending disciplinary action if necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Meets departments performance standards or excel in a related field.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
- Has the ability to perform math computations and basic bookkeeping skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to supervise others.
- Demonstrates financial management skills.
- Willing to work in any area of the city as needed.
- Completion of MTP Program.
- Ability to provide on-the-job-training in equipment use and care, food production, sanitation, safety, record keeping to staff members and newly assigned employees.
- Adaptable to new and unusual situations.
- Knowledge and application of marketing principles and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability organizing and assigning work.
- Demonstrated ability in delegation of authority and responsibility.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with lunchroom and school staff.
- Must have the ability to interact well with students, principals, parents and all customer groups.
- Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
- Evaluations – must have scored average or above in all categories.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the english language
