Area supervisors assist in the day-to-day operations and management of the Child Nutrition Programs. Our hard working food service team of nearly 900 employees are dedicated to providing excellent service and high-quality meals to all students district-wide. Area Supervisors provide ongoing training and guidance to ensure staff are in compliance with federal regulations while maintaining production and quality standards. Area Supervisors ensures each kitchen and food service facility are compliant with all food safety and sanitation regulations. Our Team

Anne Wilson

Anne Wilson joined Team DPS in 2007. She is a Registered Dietitian and she also serves as the Garden to School and Urban Farms to School Coordinator and an Area Supervisor, overseeing several school kitchens in the district.

Prior to DPS she worked as a food services supervisor with Cherry Creek Schools and as a nutrition consultant for Grayson Nutrition Services in Boulder, CO. Anne received her Master’s degree in Nutrition from Colorado State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Iowa State University. Anne enjoys encouraging people (especially DPS students) to try new foods. Outside of work, you will find Anne running, biking or paddle boarding.

Sandy Grady

Sandy Grady joined Team DPS in the winter of 1992. Sandy brings over 24 years of hands on culinary experience in Baking and Cooking to the district. She continues to advance her skills, as a member of the School Nutrition Association (State and National). In her spare time you will find Sandy enjoying spending time with family and cooking.

Lauren Olinger

Lauren Olinger joined our team in 2013. She came to us from Round Rock ISD and has a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Lauren brings a wide array of past experiences from school food, restaurants and hotels. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family and in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Jennifer Cook

Jennifer Cook has been with the district since 2007. She is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience in school Food Service. Jennifer has a BS degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She has worked with both the Nebraska and Colorado Departments of Education. Jennifer loves to travel, especially to Phoenix to see her grandchildren.

Deanna Dalton

My name is Deanna, and I am very excited to join the Enterprise Team as an Area Supervisor! A little bit about myself: I was born in Miami, Florida and grew up near the coast of central Florida. I attended Florida International University where I received my undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management. I worked as a restaurant manager at the CheeseCake Factory for several years and moved around the country spending time in Cincinnati, Washington D.C., and St. Louis. Later, I returned to school in Florida and studied Biology and also became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (and worked in the medical field a few years).

Soon after I welcomed my son, Lantz, into this crazy world. I realized I needed to find a job that allowed me to spend more time with him, and I wanted to raise him in a town that offered more opportunities and better schools. I moved to Denver in 2014 with my husband and son, and started working as a Health Inspector with the City. That job included inspecting DPS kitchens, which I found to be really fascinating, with their own sets of challenges.

Two years later I learned about this job opening and applied- and here I am now! That’s my life story in a nut shell. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and I am thrilled to be part of this team!

Sharon Fox

Sharon Fox joined Team DPS 35 years ago. Prior to DPS Sharon and her mother owned a custom drapery company. Sharon has 2 children and 4 grandchildren she likes to spend time with.

Leonard Apodaca

Leonard was born and raised in Denver. He attended Godsman, Rishel, and George Washington High School. He attended Mertopolitan State College and the University of Northern Colorado majoring in Criminal Justice/Sociology.

He is an avid Bronco fan and enjoys watching games with his Patriot fan son. He has worked in the food industry for 29 years and has worked in food service for four years. He also enjoys watching his son playing soccer and loves spending time with family.

Adam Fisher

After years of work in social service posiitons, Adam enrolled and graduated from Johnson & Wales with a culinary degree. He spent a number of years working his way around kitchens in Denver and then settled into a position as Special Diet Chef for a local non-profit, Project Angel Heart.

In July of 2010 he began working with Denver Public Schools as a volunteer chef assisting with the implementation of the Scratch Cooking program. He was hired by the district in July 2011 as an area supervisor, concentrating on the continued development of Scratch Cooking in all DPS schools.

Sheryle Edwards

Sheryle Edwards joined team DPS in 2001, she is a former DPS parent. Sheryle holds an associate degree in nutrition and has worked in Food Service management for over 30 years, 20 of those years in school food service.

In Sheryle’s spare time you will find her spending time with her family, reading, cooking, shopping and enjoying her home state of Colorado.
